I. Love. This. So. Much.
A blog devoted to those of you with large labia who may be seeking a little reassurance or want to share your thoughts and feelings about your own lips.
Thanks to @naamahdarling for bringing this loveliness to my attention!
(nsfw obviously, so watch yoself)
I used to have this really amazing bike seat that you can attach onto your existing seat that was kind of squishy and therefore easier on the nether-regions but I don’t remember where I got it or what brand it is. Maybe do some shopping around and look at getting a new seat or something you can add on for softer padding? I also know female groin-cups exist, but I don’t know how logical they would be to use for biking.
It is totes normal to have dark labia. I don’t believe friction is the cause, it’s just a thing that happens. It looks different from the vaginas in porn that have been altered to look a certain way because someone somewhere somehow made everyone believe hairless, smooth, rose-petal cunts to be vital and attractive, when they’re not.
Labia come in all colors and shapes and sizes and sometimes they don’t even exist! Check the labia tag if you don’t believe me :3
And yes, it is definitely normal to get pimples down there. Pimples don’t care where they sprout, they just sprout - although sometimes it may be due to an ingrown hair from shaving or something.
Vaginas have a smell that is a vagina-smell. It is a definite smell, but not a bad smell - just a distinct one. (I am really good at describing things.) If things start smelling different than they usually do then it’s probably a bad smell that it could be caused by an infection.
Same goes for discharge - as a common occurrence, it should be pretty consistent. Sometimes there’s more of it than usual depending on where you are on your menstrual cycle, but if it changes color or starts to smell bad, then there’s probably something that needs to be checked out.
I wish I had more legit resources on vaginas to source.
And if for whatever ungodly reason a guy finds your vagina disgusting, he doesn’t deserve its unyielding power and love. Seriously. There is no reason why any vagina ever should be considered disgusting. They are all beautiful and unique. Like snowflakes, except less cold.
Don’t stress, love. For real. I wish I could give you a hug and just tell you straight to your face, “YOU HAVE SUCH A LOVELY VAGINA!!!!” but then I imagine you probably wouldn’t appreciate me yelling in your face.
I don’t know if any of that helped whatsoever, but I really enjoy talking about vaginas. <3
TW: fat/body shaming

I grew up in a rich town, which normalized surgery as a solution to any perceived body abnormalities. When I was sixteen I worked with a girl a year older than myself who labialplasty. Functionally it was fine, she confided, but it was “too ugly to show”. I found the idea appalling, but was scared my labia were also ugly, continuing my virginity, because my family didn’t have $ for voluntary surgery.
Also, when I was 19, a new gyno told me my inner lips would shrink, fitting within my outer ones, if I would lose weight. I believed her and felt so ashamed. The following year I accidentally lost a bunch of weight, and when the “problem” didn’t change, I figured out it was yet another case of physician fat shaming and was so mad.
O life.
on today’s sex+ we’re talkin about freaky labia!
and how your labia are maybe (definitely) not-so-freaky after all.
I felt this was applicable to the discussions we’ve been having today.
Thank you for sharing!!
Yaaaaaay!!!

YES!
And what the ever loving fuck kind of self-respecting OBGYN actually suggests labiaplasty and implies long labia are not normal? Fuck that noise. For real.
No such thing as TMI around here!
That doesn’t sound gross at all. My labia minora are quite long and one is a bit longer than the other. I used to think they were abnormal when I was younger and compared them to porn-star-labia, then realize the vaginas represented in porn are sometimes not natural and often idealized and misrepresented and overall just not something I should ever compare myself to. So I stopped and eventually came to accept my parts for what they are.
I can understand your discomfort - I experience the same, especially when wearing certain kinds of underwear or moving in specific ways, especially biking. For me, it’s something I can live with. The discomfort doesn’t outweigh everything else. I wouldn’t dream of bringing my vagina under the knife to “look normal” because to me, it is normal. It is also unique.
Vaginas are not make from cookie-cutters. Long labia, short labia, big parts and small parts, puffy, pink, dark skinned, and otherwise - they are all different. They are all beautiful. They are all meant for this world.
I don’t know what your experience is or why you feel so compelled to get labiaplasty, but you are so young my dear. I wasn’t much younger than you when I cried to my mother “THERE’S SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY VAGINA!” because I thought my long labia were horribly deformed. She calmed me down, told me to stop worrying about it, that there was nothing wrong. But I wasn’t convinced, so I looked up photos of “real vaginas” on Google. That was what helped sway me.
Once I realized the true diversity that exists among vaginas - that mine wasn’t abnormal and didn’t cause me a great deal of discomfort in the grand scheme of things - then I stopped worrying until it came time to let a boy see it.
I quickly learned that most of the time, boys are not picky about vaginas - they are simply thrilled to have access to them - and those boys who like to shame vaginas for existing as they were naturally meant to don’t deserve to get in my pants.
So in short, please try to understand that your vagina is not really quite that abnormal, it is simply unique. If it really becomes a source of crippling discomfort, surgery can be an option, but I urge you to own your vagina as it is. You grew it, after all. It’s yours and it’s special and beautiful.
