Gabi Fresh for s4a Swimwear - swimsuitsforall
so, the bathing suits designed by gabi at gabifresh are cute (though i don’t love that you can’t buy tops and bottoms separately, but i’m pathetically grateful since fatkini options are slim), but the galaxy print bikini is cute (though i’m not sure i get the extra.. strap on the chest) and i love the galaxy cover-up. i burn easily and am covered in beautiful deadly moles, so beach cover-ups are really handy for me.
that’s super cute, right? however, swimsuits 4 all has decided that even though we’re on their site to shop for bikinis, we must truly hate our disgusting fat bodies:
- Cover-up hides hips while minimizing rear and thighs.
- Print breaks up torso and visually slims waist.
i wish gabi well in her endeavors, and think she’s awesome, and appreciate that she designed bikinis for fat women, but i definitely don’t want to give swimsuits for all any money now.
swimsuits for all, you are butts, and you are selling this stuff entirely on the back of the designer’s good reputation and great designs- not because of your gross marketing.
Yeah, this is unfortunate. And that the pieces only go up to a size 24 - though, that may be for some reason I don’t know about that somehow makes sense?
Rue 107 has always been curve friendly and now they have extended their sizes to include plus sizes. They have really cute plus size swimsuits and some of their most popular styles now in bigger sizes. Here are some of my favorites.

In a surf town it’s hard to be a fat babe on the beach, and though images of skinny bikini babes are EVERYWHERE; one does run across the occasional (but thrilling) happy fatty!
It’s warming up finally, so it’s time to post my steps to a perfect bikini body!

It is just now starting to seem like it might be considering being spring here in new england, and it has me thinking about summer and swimming and sunning, and how much I love all of these things. I think I need to get a fatkini this year - it will be the summer of the fatkini, and it will be glorious.
I wish I had a fatkini.

I wanted to get one this summer but couldn’t justify spending the money on one when I had a perfectly beautiful one-piece retro suit that I loooove! And now it’s getting cold. NEXT SUMMER!
What would thin girls do?
I’ve decided whatever thin girls can do, I give myself permission to do, if I want to do it. Whatever thin girls wear, I give myself permission to wear, if I want to wear it.
And that’s all I need. I don’t need anyone else’s permission. I don’t need society’s permission. FUCK SOCIETY.
From now on, when I hear that voice in my head, the one that’s been trained into me, the one that says “you shouldn’t wear that; you’re fat”, I’m just going to ask myself the question: “What would thin girls do? Would they wear this?” and if the answer is yes then I’m gonna fucking put it on and give no fucks.
Period.
