Some Benefits of Being Short
from healthforlove: My current height is 5 feet, 2.5 inches. I do not know when I “stopped” growing, but I do remember measuring myself on a Star Wars Episode 1 themed height chart in the eighth grade. My measurement then was 5’2”, and it stayed that way for years. That last half-inch came from a weird period of body change after I turned 18. In elementary school, I was taller than most of...

Some more thoughts on fat and health
infinitetransit: Being fat does not mean somebody is unhealthy. Fat is not an illness. Let’s say in an alternate reality that there was a causal link, fat people would still not owe anyone their health in exchange for respect. Having the privilege of good health does not bring the moral high ground with it. These derailing tactics try to establish a good fatty/bad fatty dichotomy and make us...

Neil Gaiman: WHY DO WE PHOTOSHOP PEOPLE? →
maureenjohnsonbooks: Many of you may have seen the articles today about the awesome fourteen year-old who took a petition to Seventeen Magazine requesting that they do one non Photoshopped spread a month. Seventeen, to their credit, heard her out. They ultimately turned her down. Now,…

I’m 30 years old.. and only now am I starting to accept my body. This is what 330lbs of me looks like. —— Submitted by laiyne

chubbybychoice: Did a presentation in my writing course today on some of my fat-related art. The Q&A digressed into the entire class asking me questions about Fat Acceptance and Body Positivity, as well as a few people throwing in the usual “But fat is unhealthy and shouldn’t be presented as a positive thing!”… That is so lovely!
randomlancila asked: I think having nudity on the blog is an excellent idea. Nude bodies are real and honest and wonderful! That being said, I think it would be helpful if they were tagged as NSFW so that people can use Tumblr Savior to block the images if they're at school/in public/don't want to see nudity.
I’ve generally tried to keep nudity on this blog to a minimum. If there is any, it usually has some artistic intent behind it. But I have always enjoyed posts from real, unfiltered people. Just naked body parts and shapes and curves and lines and stretch marks and hair and underwear… Photos like these are what have always helped me feel most centered with who I am and how I feel...
"Oh, is this too healthy for you?"...
curvesappreciationsociety: standalonespirit: Offering me salads, fruit salads, veg or sushi, if I refuse, probably like any other person, it’s for a good reason. Not because I’m afraid of healthy food. I am picky as FUCK when it comes to food, and to be frank, my ocd and some standards of food hygiene and preparation I witness mean I wont touch your fucking food with a bargepole. These...
