Encouraging Obesity. Riiiiight. →
I’m completely frustrated with the idea that anyone who doesn’t try to make fat people hate themselves and their bodies is somehow “encouraging obesity” or “promoting obesity”…

subarusakurazuka asked: First of all, I love your blog. You are such a beautiful and amazing person and I hope you never stop trying to redefine body image. I'm working with three of my friends and doing an extensive school service project on this matter, and we all love this blog. But I just wanna say one thing. I know that you mainly focus on fat people, and I understand why, but I feel like this blog could use a...

What the Little Kid Inside of Me Has Been Trying...
I’m only a college freshman, so I many not know a lot about…well, anything. But I know about my body.
I found it funny, looking back at old momentos from kindergarten and 2nd grade, that the other kids would say that I was good at running. And you know what? I wasn’t good at it, but I loved to be active. I actually did. I was a pretty chunky kid, but I loved running and...

Redefining Body Image: Possible Future Project...
So RBI has become a venue for discussion and/or collection of language for a bit now and I am itching to start a new project but I don’t know where to start. What say you on the following objectives?
Some straight-up guerilla messaging, poster-plastering goodness.
A swanky zine-type deal (I understand they are all the rage these days)?

This Is Why I'm Fat
rinrinfantabulous:
I, like many people who get on board with fat/body acceptance, have started identifying as fat. It’s a descriptive term. It’s not an insult, and it’s not me being self-deprecating. It’s just my body. I’m tall(ish), small-breasted, and fat.
While shopping with a friend recently I pondered a pair of cute tights and the fact that my height and weight were nowhere to be found on...

thisisnotwhoyouthinkipromise asked: I'm with you, and George Carlin. I use the word "fat." I use that word because that's what people are: they're fat. They're not bulky; they're not large, chunky, hefty or plump. And they're not big-boned. Dinosaurs were big-boned. These people are not overweight: this term somehow implies there is some correct weight. There is no correct weight. Heavy...

I know that when someone called me fat when I was younger, it devastated me. The post just shows that it's not a bad thing, it's not a word that should be used as an insult, because it's not. If someone...
